Big Tex is a BIG full-blooded Akbash boy! He came to us from a tiny shelter in rural Texas after being found on the side of the road. He is just over two years old, definitely an alpha boy, and is maturing to be an exceptional livestock guardian. Although he takes his job very, very seriously, and is always aware of everything going on around his property, he also LOVES his people. Whenever we are outside with him, he is glued to one of our sides (as you can see in the pictures!). He adores affection, but his first priority is definitely his job.
Big Tex is available to a working home, where he will have a partner to work with. If an interested adopter does not already have a partner for Tex, we have other single LGDs to recommend as a good working team. Akbash are very serious livestock guardians, so an adopter should have a general understanding of the needs of the breed classification, and a respect for their desire to be both a loving companion and devoted worker.
Big Tex's adoption fee is $250, or if adopted with a working partner, it will be $350 for the pair.
