Gus came to the Ranch from a small rural shelter in south-central New Mexico, having been brought there by animal control after being picked up as a stray. This sweet boy didn't look all that great at the shelter, as he had been suffering from both heartworm and intestinal parasite infections, and had the rough patchy coat that often goes along with that. But we saw right through his tattered exterior, saw Mr. Gus for the beautiful smiley soul that he is, and brought him right back to the Ranch to start his journey back to health, and then to his happy fur-ever.
Gus appears to be a heeler / border collie mix, probably around two to three years old. He is super friendly, wants nothing more than love and attention from people, and is showing many signs of the intelligent, focused, and highly-devoted personality that cattle dog breeds are so well-known for. He gets along well with other dogs, loves making new friends, and is a huge fan of car rides and special adventures. This guy really just wants to be by his person's side all the time, and is going to make one lucky adopter a truly fantastic canine companion!
Gus has recovered beautifully from his heartworm treatment, has been given a clean bill of health by his veterinarian, and is ready to find his very own happy fur-ever home. Could it be yours?
Gus' adoption fee is $195, and please CLICK HERE to see what the adoption fee includes.
